The Power of Personalization: For a True Texas Cowboy

Zane Grey Cole of McDade, Texas
12/13/1929 – 9/1/2016

Zane is described as a cowboy’s cowboy…honest, hard-working, humble, and humorous. He was strong and kind…a horse trader, a storyteller, a gentleman, and a friend to everyone he met.  He leaves behind a great legacy of love and family… and the values of integrity, heritage, and compassion for others.
In remembrance of this great man, we had the privilege of creating this custom Quarter Horse cremation urn sculpture.  The Coles are family and we are so honored to memorialize Zane with our art.  We hope that it provides them great comfort during this time, and becomes a treasure to the generations of Coles to come.

Engraved on the side of the horse's neck is a quote from Zane's writings:
"I will pass through this world only once, so I intend to ride a good horse."

Practicing Prototypes: Angel with Heart

We have been working on prototypes for our new Angel with Heart YURN. The first few casts of a new models is where we work our processes and color finishes. With this model, the angel's dress is the main vessel for cremains placement.

angel urn, heart urn, cremation urn, handmade

This prototype was made with Jamaica's grandmother, Doris, in mind. We personalized this model by engraving her initial "D", along with "Mom" and her grandma name, "Doie".  It won't be used as an cremation urn, but will hang on the tree that she rests under at the cemetery.

Soon we will be perfecting this model, taking pictures, naming it, writing copy and rolling her out into our production line!

The Power of Personalization: A YURN Surprise

We started listening to an entrepreneur podcast a few months ago and joined a related Facebook group. Nathan, the host, had shared a story on his podcast about his tough childhood experiences and the close bond he had with his little brother. Tragically, is brother died in 2012, at the age of 29, from alcoholism.

We understand the struggles having loved ones afflicted by alcoholism, and were touched by his story of profound loss. His positive take-away was very moving as he spoke about how he has grown from all of his challenges.

We were inspired to make him a memorial for his brother, and it was delivered to him in Colorado as a surprise....

How amazing that he shared this video and allowed us to experience the un-boxing with him. It was very touching and brought tears to our eyes too...

We designed a graphic for the inside of the YURN, it had this quote that Nathan described as his life's motto.

Quite Magnificent...Handwritten Notes to Personalize

On a recent order for a "Guitar Picker" YURN, we were asked to include very special and sentimental engravings.  The customer had sent to us handwritten notes from her husband who recently passed.  She asked for us to take an element from 3 separate notes and combine them into one inscription that reads, "Love My Bunnie", signed "Johnny", with a little drawing of a baseball cap that he was known to always wear.

We love adding these unique and sentimental elements, that mean so much to those grieving such great losses. For years to come, she will be able to look at his memorial and see the small reminder of the sweet love they shared together.

She shared with us stories and pictures of her late husband, and our experience with working with her on this piece was truly an honor.  We feel grateful to have these connections with those who purchase our art and think it is amazing to be a part of his tribute.

"The guitar is quite magnificent!  I think it will be the absolute best way to honor him and display his ashes...I was overwhelmed with a multitude of emotions...
It is a very strange feeling to be so happy with something that has been created for something so deeply heartbreaking.  Although I absolutely & totally think that the guitar is stupendous, it feels wrong to like it because if John were alive, I wouldn't need it and I'd rather not need it.  If that makes any sense at all.
Regardless of what I am feeling, your creation is a masterpiece.  I am very happy with the quality of your craftsmanship and also with your kind hearts and loving souls."   -Sandie H.
