45 RPM Record Stack Urn – Honoring Uncle Al: Music Lover’s Legacy

This past month, we gathered to celebrate the life of our Uncle Al...music lover, storyteller, and all-around original. For his memorial, we created a custom version of our 45s Record Stack YURN, personalized just for him. Jamaica designed a custom label featuring some of his quirky sayings and the title of a funny song he wrote years ago. It felt like the perfect way to honor both his sense of humor and his lifelong love of music.

Custom Memorial Sticker
We set the piece on his memory table at the cemetery committal, surrounded by photos, a few of his favorite things, and plenty of stories being shared. To help remember him with a smile, I also made custom stickers with his best one-liners and handed them out to friends and family.

For his closest loved ones, we went a step further—creating individual ceramic 45s with the custom label on one side and the lyrics to his original song on the back. These keepsakes were a fun way to remember him always.

His record stack urn was entirely hand-built, with each horizontal line carefully carved to give the look of a stacked collection of vinyl. We’ve love the Record Stack pieces we've done previously, but the process is labor-intensive. We’re currently developing a mold for the Record Stack YURN that will allow us to bring this design into our production line. This shift will help reduce costs, speed up production time, and make this meaningful design more accessible to other music-loving families, while still allowing for personal touches like custom labels and Record keepsakes.

It was an honor to create this YURN and keepsake collection for someone who meant so much to our family. We can hear Uncle Al saying, "Far out and beyond!".

Power of Personalization: Captain Lived Life 'His Way'

For an Alabama Coast Shrimp Boat Capt’n…who lived and loved fully, unabashedly, his own way. These shrimp boat urns were handmade in his honor, for each of his three sisters.

Made for a local friend, Kathy, and her family...she would tell stories of her brother Doug's adventures and trials, big wins and pitfalls. Doug was known for his kind heart and unconventional style. The last boat he owned was fittingly named, "My Way".

May he rest in peace.

The Power of Personalization: Cowboy Joe's Boots

Cowboy Boots Urn

Recently, we were asked by friends of the family to sculpt an urn for their loved one Joe.
Joe loved to ride his motorcycle, and was affectionately known as "Cowboy" to his bike club friends and loved ones.  It was decided that the most fitting tribute to remember him would be his cowboy boots.

His wife, Robin, sent us pictures of his most recent pair of boots, of which he wore with a spur on his right boot.  We used these pictures as our references to sculpt Joe's Boots.

Additional personal touches included engravings of his name, dates, a handwritten note to Robin.

We were able to hand deliver Joe's boots to his family. We were so touched by their warm response and kind words for Joe's memorial. We greatly appreciate Robin and her sister, Laura, for working with us to honor him through our artwork.
